Urban Bush Women
Description
Urban Bush Women (UBW) is committed to dancing powerful, under-told stories of the African diaspora through the vision of its award-winning founder Jawole Willa Jo Zollar. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the company continues to use dance to bring together audiences through innovative choreography, community engagement and artistic leadership development. Zollar has conceived of "Walking with ’Trane" as a suite of works based on the life and artistic imprint of jazz pioneer John Coltrane and his album, "A Love Supreme." This work is co-choreographed by Zollar and UBW dancer Samantha Speis.
