Emergency Notices – Additional requirements (updated 4/14/08)
Cattle/Bison
- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Official Individual Identification
- Brucellosis - Free State - Farm to farm, no test. All others, test within 30 days.
- Tuberculosis - Free State - Farm to farm, no test. All others, test within 30 days.
- Certified Accredited Herd - Put herd number and date of last test on CVI.
- Rodeo Bulls - Brucellosis tested once a year unless used for breeding purposes, then they must be tested within 30 days. Also, they must meet above requirements.
- Private Sale or Breed Sale - From farm in a TB and Brucellosis-Free State, no test required by Livestock Poultry Health Division. Sale may require test. We suggest testing within 30 days for it may be required of the state of destination.
- NO TEST REQUIRED ON ANIMALS UNDER 6 MONTHS OF AGE
- CALFHOOD VACCINATION NOT REQUIRED

Equine
- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days) Including description, date of negative EIA results, Lab and Accession number.
- Negative EIA test within 12 months, if over 6 months of age
- Under 6 months, weaned, and traveling alone without mare require Negative EIA test (sale barns will require it).

Caprine/Ovine (Goats/Sheep)
- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Non-Dairy - No testing if from Free State. Testing for all others
- Dairy - TB and Brucellosis within 30 days if not from accredited or certified herd.
- Caprine: Official Individual Identification
- Ovine: Official Scrapie Identification
- Statement - "Not infected with, exposed to, or from a flock or area under quarantine for scabies, scrapie, blue tongue, or any other contagious or communicable diseases."

- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Permit Number
- Official Individual Identification
- Feeder Pigs - Class 5 State, Monitored or Validated Qualified Herd or tested within 30 days.
- Breeding Swine - Q/V herd or Brucellosis - Pseudorabies test within 30 days.
- Pot Belly Pigs - test for Brucellosis and Pseudorabies, Permit too
- VS REQUIREMENTS MUST BE COMPLIED WITH

- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Official Individual Identification
- DNR Permit from Wildlife Department. (803) 734-3886
- Animal Health Permit issued after DNR Permit has been issued
- Exhibition - Two (2) TB tests 90 days apart. Last negative test 90 days before entering the state.
- Farm - Two (2) TB tests 90 days apart. Last negative test 90 days before entry. Re-test 30 days after farm entry.

- Brucellosis tested 30 days before entry, unless less than 6 months of age.
- TB tested 30 days before entry. Test if farm is not routinely TB tested, regardless of age. (Axcillary TB test)

Zoo Animals
- Enter under Zoological Association CVI [Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)] and requirements. A Private Park or individual must have Livestock Poultry Health Division and DNR permission, CVI, and requirements for individual animals.

Canines/Felines
- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Rabies vaccination on all animals 4 months of age or older.
- Rabies vaccination within 3 years of entry and rabies certificate on adult (1 year or older) dogs or cats. Vaccinated at 4 months of age with one year booster required on puppies or kittens.
- Not exposed to or from an area under quarantine for Rabies.

Ferret
- CVI - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (valid for 30 days)
- Approved Rabies Vaccination for animals 3 months of age or older.
- Rabies Vaccination within 1 year of entry, accompanied with Rabies Certificate.
- Must be vaccinated yearly.

Poultry (Chickens, Turkeys, Peafowl, Pheasants, Partridge, Quail, Grouse, Guineas, & Domesticated Waterfowl)
- Newly hatched babies or hatching eggs:
- From NPIP Pullorum-Typhoid Clean breeder flock
- VS Form 9-3 "Report of Sales of Hatching Eggs, Chicks, and Poults"
- Poultry that have been fed and/or watered:
- Pullorum-Typhoid Clean status or tested negative within 30 days of entry
- VS Form 9-2 "Flock Selecting &Testing Report", other state NPIP testing form, or CVI Certificate of Veterinary Inspection stating negative Pullorum-Typhoid test
- Give no live vaccine within the last 30 days.
