The National Nutraceutical Center is a consortium leveraging the efforts of industry, academia, and government to gain access to “leading” nutraceutical research. A science advisory board fosters trust and provides a shared strategic agenda and priorities. The consortium cultivates studies to achieve goals common to the participants.

ANNUAL DUES:

Charter Membership....$5,000:   Participation at this level qualifies for full member benefits in addition to two symposia registrations and participation as a voting member on the NNC Science Advisory Board. This Board selects future symposia sessions and establishes the scientific agenda for future NNC events. In the future, Charter Members will also receive access to the NNC Information Retrieval System, the expanded Clinical Trials Network, the Research Mobilization Program, and the NNC Bulletin Board/Discussion Group.

Patron....$25,000
:   Includes full member benefits plus recognition on all NNC publications, up to 5 registrations at scientific symposia and membership on the NNC Science Advisory Board as an officer of the Board.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

Research Conferences.
Provides registration for members at national/international scientific symposia hosted by the NNC. Issues of current relevance will be targeted as symposia themes. Some of these will include nutraceutical crop development, manufacturing processes, standardization, product safety, dosage, formulation and product efficacy. Other areas will include current government regulatory issues and basic research topics that provide the latest updates on dietary supplements and functional foods in disease prevention.

In addition to selection of speakers, the NNC Science Advisory Board works with members and sponsors to define symposia content and topic priorities. Sponsors receive national exposure with leading industrial, government and academic experts providing "cutting-edge" broad program perspectives. Members receive free registration and a copy of the published symposia proceedings.

Research.

Clinical Trials. Provides access to the National Nutraceutical Clinical Trials Network (NNCTN). The NNCTN links academic medical centers and other groups with expertise in protocol development and performance of clinical trials involving nutraceuticals. This program specializes in dietary supplements and functional foods and is the preferred site for nutraceutical trials. Members receive priority access and special member rates.

Literature Reviews. Authoritative Reviews will be prepared by a team of experts who specialize in dietary supplement and functional food issues. Members receive priority access and special member rates.

Advocacy. The NNC is developing relationships with several government agencies including The Food and Drug Administration (Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition) in areas relating to regulatory affairs, product safety, standards, and efficacy. Members receive periodic updates in these areas and can use the NNC as a conduit to provide input on issues which affect the industry.

Newsletter. Provides free subscription to the NNC Newsletter with guest editorials from member companies. This newsletter is accessible via the Internet and is only available to NNC members. Parts of this site are reserved for "discussion groups" through which members can exchange information.

FUTURE MEMBERSHIP OFFERINGS:

Information Retrieval.

The NNC will provide access to the NNC electronic archival system in which members can get information on: i) preferred analytical techniques used to standardize or evaluate raw materials and products; ii) preferred good manufacturing procedures; iii) the most recent clinical reports on product efficacy and potential harmful interactions with prescription drugs and iv) the proceedings of NNC sponsored symposia with critical evaluation and comments by expert reviewers.

Expanded Clinical Trials Network.
The NNC will expand its clinical trials network to include affiliated medical centers in Europe, Asia, and in other parts of the world. This network of national and international clinical trial sites will provide members access to diverse ethnic and cultural study populations.

Managed Research Mobilization.
The NNC will provide quick solutions to industry-wide problems. This includes immediate access to the NNC Science Advisory Board and to the cutting edge expertise and technology base of our affiliated partners (see program brochure). The Science Advisory Board will work with members to identify research teams best suited to answer specific problems and needs. On a fee for service basis, the NNC will develop protocols and negotiate costs for contractual work and will ensure that deliverables are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner. Another advantage of this benefit is a “single point of contact” for multiple service/ technology needs from multiple organizations. Members will receive priority access and special member rates.
