Membership Policy for Spring 2008
The OLLI Board of Directors is pleased to announce a new OLLI Annual Membership Program for our members. Annual memberships will run concurrently with Clemson University’s fiscal year, July 1st through June 30th. This Annual Membership Program has been implemented to allow us to report OLLI membership statistics according to the reporting requirements of our major benefactor, the Bernard Osher Foundation, as well as to better forecast our annual membership for planning our course offerings on a longer-term basis.
We are offering a special Charter Membership to all persons who purchase a membership beginning with our Fall 2007 Semester. These Charter Memberships cost $15.00 with the $15.00 charge being credited to your first course enrollment fee. If you choose not to enroll in a course during the spring semester, you may still become a Charter Member by paying the $15.00 enrollment fee. In that case, the $15.00 credit will be applied toward the fee if you enroll in a Maymester course. Beginning with the Fall 2007 Semester, Annual Membership is a requirement for registering for any OLLI course or event.
Calling All Volunteers
We need your help. Our office staff and some of our instructors need some assistance from time to time. So we are asking you to consider volunteering some of your time as an OLLI CLASS ASSISTANT.
If you would like to serve as a classroom assistant, you would be assigned only to an instructor in whose class you are registered. Your duties might include taking attendance, distributing handouts and course evaluations, and ensuring proper equipment set-up. You will receive training for this position during a Volunteer Training Program.
We are also in need of OLLI FACILITY ASSISTANTS. Your duties might include ensuring proper table and chair arrangement of the classroom, resetting the classroom once class has ended for the day, and ensuring that proper equipment is placed in the classroom for the class assistant to set-up. Facilities requiring an assistant are Trinity Wesleyan Church Family Life Center, Keowee Key Activity Center, and Fort Hill Presbyterian Church.
Please consider accepting our invitation to serve as a volunteer. If you are interested, let us know by completing the volunteer box located on the back of the registration form, and someone from the OLLI office will contact you.
We appreciate your support as all of us are committed to providing the best lifelong learning program in the Upstate.
