Applied (Private) Music Lessons at Clemson

The Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University offers private music lessons to all students attending Clemson University. Private instruction is offered in a wide variety of instruments as well as voice. (See Section Numbers below.) Students receive 1 hour of academic credit per semester. An applied music fee is charged for each semester of private lessons. The cost of private lessons will appear on your university statement.

Performing Arts Majors

For the first semester of lessons, students majoring in Production Studies In Performing Arts with a music concentration - should register for Music 153 with the section determined by the instrument of their choice. PA Music Majors receive 12 45-minute lessons per semester.

Non-Music Majors

Non majors should register for Music 151 for their first semester of private instruction. The class section is determined by the instrument of choice. Non-major music students receive a total of 12 30-minute lessons per semester.

How to Register

To register, students must come to the Performing Arts Department office Located at room 221 Brooks Center. NOTE: Registration cannot be done online.
