Applied Music Faculty

David Stevenson, Guitar

Professor David Stevenson teaches guitar in the Department of Performing Arts and directs the Classical Guitar Ensemble. Professor Stevenson is an honor graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Music and was a teaching fellow at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a master’s degree in classical guitar performance in 1986. Professor Stevenson is also on the faculty of UNC-Ashville and Mars Hill College (North Carolina). He performs regularly in the region as a soloist and a chamber musician. In 1989, he patented the A-Frame Adjustable Guitar Support, which is in use worldwide by leading guitarists and teachers.
