The Clemson University Tiger Band (marching band) will have a short, but
exciting holiday break. The New Year’s Day Gator Bowl Game pitting the
Tigers against the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers means that Tiger Band
members will have to cut short their time at home to travel and perform at several bowl-related activities.
“The students are excited about the opportunity to perform on the national stage,” said Clemson director of bands Mark Spede. “A New Year’s day bowl appearance is a prime time moment for them. It’s an experience they will remember for a long time to come.”
As part of the band’s performance itinerary is a pre-game pep-rally,
marching the Gator Bowl Parade and a performance at Universal Studios in
Orlando. When not playing, band members can spend some free time visiting
Jacksonville Landing, enjoying the rides and attractions of Universal
Studios, and, of course being part of the excitement of the Gator Bowl Game.
