MUSIC LESSONS AT CLEMSON
Applied Music Lessons...
The Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University offers private music lessons to all students attending Clemson University. Private instruction is offered in a wide variety of instruments as well as voice. (See Section Numbers below.) Students receive 1 hour of academic credit per semester. An applied music fee is charged for each semester of private lessons.
Performing Arts Majors
For the first semester of lessons, students majoring in Production Studies In Performing Arts with a music concentration - should register for Music 153 with the section determined by the instrument of their choice. The class number changes with each subsequent semester of lessons, but the section remains the same as long as the instrument does not change. PA Music Majors receive 12 45-minute lessons per semester. The Applied Music fee is $400 per semester.
Non-Music Majors
All students not majoring in music should register for Music 151 their first semester of private instruction. The class section is determined by the instrument of choice. The class number changes with each subsequent semester of lessons, but the section remains the same as long as the instrument does not change. Non-major music students receive a total of 12 30-minute lesson per semester. The Applied Music fee is $305 per semester.
How to Register
Registration for lessons is done on a per semester basis. To register, students must come to the Performing Arts Department office Located at room 221 Brooks Center.
NOTE: Registration cannot be done online.
