Production Studies in Performing Arts Major Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid
Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid recipients are required to participate in Department of Performing Arts activities as assigned. Students must currently have and maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point ratio and remain full-time students (12 credit hours/semester) during the award period. Recipients are expected to be examples of collaboration and a positive attitude at all times. Recipients must also maintain a positive image demonstrating leadership, integrity, and character appropriate for all Clemson University Department of Performing Arts activities.
All students majoring in Production Studies in Performing Arts whether the concentration is Theatre, Music, or Audio Technology, are eligible for a $100 Grant-in-Aid per semester if they choose to take Applied Music Lessons. It will be credited towards the fee each semester that they enroll in private lessons, whether it is instrumental music or voice lessons. There are also a limited number of Jansen Dance Lesson Scholarships available on an audition basis.
There are Grants-in-Aid available from the Friends of the Brooks Center and from the Department of Performing Arts POPS Concert Scholarship Fund. See the individual areas of concentration for more information.
Each year 3 Outstanding Students in Performing Arts are chosen, one in each area of concentration (Music, Theatre, & Audio) for recognition at the Annual AAH Honors & Awards Day. These prestigious awards are accompanied by a check and plaque, and their names are engraved on the plaque displayed in the Performing Arts office.
There are also numerous Student Employment Opportunities throughout the Brooks Center. Students are employed in the Box Office, Scene Shop, Business Office, Band Office, Choral Office, Orchestra Office, Costume Shop, and Production Department. Work-Study Students are especially encouraged to apply.
