THEATRE MINOR
Students in any major can pursue a minor in theatre.
No entrance audition is required and the curriculum can be completed in two years.

 


The theatre minor requires 20 credit hours including dramatic literature, theatre history, a specialty area of concentration, practicum, and electives.


• One semester of Dramatic Literature (THEA/ENG 429 or 430) or Shakespeare (ENG 411)
• One semester of Theatre History (THEA 315, 316, or 317)
• Two semesters of a specialty area

• Acting (THEA 278 and 479)

• Theatre History (THEA 315 and 316)

• Playwriting (THEA 347, 447, 372, and 472)

• Creative Drama (THEA 376 and 476)

• Scenic or Lighting Design (THEA 377 and 477 or 487 or 497)

• Directing (THEA 376 and 476)

• Two semesters of Theatre Practicum (THEA 279)

• Six credit hours of theatre electives at the 300 or 400 level
