Dr. Andrew Levin is an associate professor of music in the Department of Performing Arts. He conducts the Clemson University Symphony Orchestra and coaches the Clemson University String Quartet. Classes he enjoys teaching include Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, and Performing Arts Seminar. He is also an assistant conductor and principal violist of the Carolina Pops Orchestra and plays as a substitute violist with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Levin also plays violin, viola, and piano for weddings and other functions through Classic Touch, a music service he owns and operates.
As a composer, Levin has written and arranged more than a hundred works for orchestra and various ensembles. Selected works are both published by Fountain Park Music Publishing or are self-published. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University (Los Angeles), a Master of Music degree in conducting and piano performance from Rice University (Houston), and a Doctor of Arts degree in conducting and viola performance from Ball State University (Indiana). Levin joined the Clemson faculty in 1993.
