Dr. Daniel Rash
Professor of Music
Daniel Rash, Professor of Music, served as the Director of Choral Activities for 18 years, and currently teaches music classes in the Department of Performing Arts. During his tenure, he directed all the choral groups, including the Clemson University Singers, Men's Glee, Women's Glee, Impulse, Southern Accents, TakeNote, and Tigeroar. In addition, he has taught music history, conducting, arranging, musical theatre, and music appreciation.
He is a composer and arranger with works published by Carl Fischer, Mark Foster, and Hinshaw Publishing. Many of his published works are on Celtic themes, a special interest of Dr. Rash.
Dr. Rash earned degrees from the University of Colorado, the University of North Texas, and the University of Texas at Arlington. He has held choral directing positions at the secondary and collegiate levels. Dr. Rash has appeared with his choruses at several music conventions, including the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the Intercollegiate Men’s Choruses, and the Texas Music Educators Association.
Dr. Rash has an extensive background in choral teaching and conducting at both the university and high school levels, and his Clemson groups have twice performed at Carnegie Hall, three times at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., and three times at the U.S. Air Force Academy Chapel. He has served as an adjudicator and conductor for choirs in over twenty states and at several international venues. Dr. Rash has traveled extensively and has led a Study Abroad trip to Europe.
