Music Faculty

Prof. Justin W. Durham

Professor DurhamProfofessor Justin W. Durham serves as the Director of Choral Activities in the Department of Performing Arts at Clemson University where he conducts the Clemson University Singers, the Women’s Glee and Men’s Glee, and is the director of Viva Voce. Prof. Durham holds Music Education degrees from Murray State University in Murray, Ky, and is currently completing the requirements for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University.

Prof. Durham has taught high school choirs, Advance Placement Music Theory, and Music Appreciation in Northern Kentucky for seven years. He has been active as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor in Kentucky, Illinois, Louisiana, and Texas. Choirs under his direction have been selected to perform at the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) state convention and the Kentucky State School Board Association convention. His choirs have also toured throughout the United States, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, to much acclaim.

Prof. Durham served as district Choral Chair and President-elect for KMEA and was a Kentucky American Choral Directors Association repertoire and standards chairman for four years. In 2004, he was selected as a winner of the Northern Kentucky-Post Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching and was also honored as the Kentucky Music Educators Association High School Music Teacher of the Year.
