Dr. Cindy R. Goodloe is a lecturer in class and applied piano in the Department of Performing Arts. She holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Washington, a Masters degree in piano performance from Indiana University, and a Doctor of Music degree in piano performance from Florida State University.

Dr. Goodloe has held full-time college teaching positions in music at Queens University of Charlotte, North Carolina, and at Erskine College in Due West, South Carolina. In addition, she has been an adjunct instructor in music at Utica College of Syracuse University, Utica, New York, and at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina.

An active adjudicator and performer, Dr. Goodloe has concertized at various colleges and for civic and community organizations throughout the United States. She is also on the South Carolina Arts Commission's Education Roster of Approved Artists.

Dr. Goodloe’s area of specialty is the depiction of the bird in music. After completing her doctoral treatise, “The Depiction of the Bird in Selected Piano Compositions of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries,” she has given numerous audio-visual lecture-recitals where such music is featured.

Having taught private piano for over thirty years, Dr. Goodloe is a faculty member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers as well as a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the South Carolina Music Teachers Association, and the Greenville Music Teachers Association. She is past president of the Greenville Woman’s Music Club.
