From acting and directing, to scenic and costume design, to playwriting, criticism, and dramaturgy, theatre at Clemson University is intense and diverse, an exciting combination of performance, academic study, and production.
The theatre program at Clemson combines aspects of performance, design, playwriting, and criticism/dramaturgy in an academically challenging environment. While our majors do specialize, they participate in every aspect of a theatrical event: actors design, writers act, and directors write.
The Clemson Players, the very active student theatre organization, co-sponsors an annual season of theatre with productions designed and directed by faculty, guest artists, and students. Clemson theatre students have built successful careers in every aspect of the profession, from the technical to the performative.
The program offers diverse opportunities through internships and travel to events such as The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, the Spoleto Festival, the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Conference, and more.
