The Summer Program for Research Interns (SPRI) is a program coordinated by the SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) for rising high school seniors in public and private schools in South Carolina. The goal of SPRI is to motivate bright, academically talented students to pursue careers in science, mathematics, or technology.
During the summer of 2008, Clemson University will host approximately 25 resident and 10 commuting student research interns in this program from June 9-July 18. The student research interns work with Clemson faculty in their campus laboratories for six weeks, approximately 8:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday - Friday.
Two dorm counselors will be hired (one male, one female). Each counselor will be housed in a dorm (East campus high or low- rises) on the same floor as the SPRI students. Counselors will be responsible for the safety of the students in their charge and are required to live in the dorm and remain in their building or otherwise with the students after 5 PM each day, seven days a week and all day on weekends. Current or former Clemson University Resident Assistants are encouraged to apply.
