You don't have to know much about brick or design to admire Clemson's rich architecture. But those who are in the know recognized Clemson's Military Heritage Plaza as a winning project.
The Brick Association of the Carolinas awarded the 2002 Design with Brick's President's Award to Seamon Whiteside & Associates Inc. of Mount Pleasant and Clemson's Campus Planning Services for their collaboration on the Military Heritage Plaza.
Campus master planner Gerald Vander Mey and campus landscape architect Barret Anderson teamed up with the firm to direct the project.
The Military Heritage Plaza was created to honor the University's history as a military institution and to honor Clemson alumni who have served the United States in times of war. It was created through the generosity of the Classes of '50, '51, '52 and '53.
