About The sponsor provides an opportunity to participate in USARL?s on-going and applied research and development projects through its programs in: Computational & Information Science, Human Research and Engineering, Survivability & Lethality Analysis, Sensors & Electron Devices, Weapons & Materials Research, and Vehicle Technology. The mission of USARL is to provide the Army the key technologies and the analytical support necessary to assure supremacy in future land warfare. Appointments are at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD, and Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, and other approved locations.

The mission of USARL is to provide the Army the key technologies and the analytical support necessary to assure supremacy in future land warfare. Related disciplines include life, health, and medical sciences; mathematics; computer science; physical sciences; earth, environmental, and marine sciences; social and behavioral sciences; engineering; biological sciences; computer/information science and technology; computational modeling; materials research; and related scientific disciplines.
Eligibility Eligible applicants are uundergraduate and graduate students; postgraduates (BS, MS, and PhDs)who have completed degree within the last five years; college or university full-time faculty; K-12 educators; and other scientists. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Funding Stipends are based on research area(s) and academic classification. Faculty appointment stipends are based on regular salary. Appointments may be full-time or part-time, and range up to one year. Appointments are renewable up to a total of four years full-time participation for postgraduates, or up to a total of five years full-time participation for post-doctorates.
