Hi! I serve as the Director of Freshman Academic Programs for Clemson University and have the pleasure of coordinating the Early Success Program (ESP). In addition to ESP, I coordinate programs that are focused on helping freshman students develop strategies that will help them become successful college students! I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology from Lander University in 2005 and my Master’s in Educational Counseling from Clemson in 2007. Prior to taking this position in 2012, I worked at Young Harris College, Georgia Tech, and Tri-County Technical College. I am the proud mother of 4 year old twins, Oliver and Matilda, practice yoga in my free time, and love to read! Anne Lamott, Glennon Doyle Melton, and Barbara Brown Taylor are among my favorite authors. I look forward to meeting each of you and being a part of your journey at Clemson!
Hey everyone! My name is Erin and I will be the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Freshman Academic Programs this year! I am so excited to continue my journey at Clemson with all of you!
I graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington with my degree in psychology and my elementary education certificate. While there I learned to love coffee and college basketball! Go Zags!
I am originally from Bozeman, Montana where my mom and step dad live with my little sister Georgia who is my absolute favorite person! She is five years old and so much fun!
I am getting my Masters in Higher Education in Student Affairs and have a passion for helping students becomes the best that they can be.
I love sports, reading, and have way too many pairs of shoes. And on any given day you could find me catching up on Grey's Anatomy, painting, or baking cookies. I can't wait to meet all of you and have a fun summer together!!
Hello! My name is Nina and I am the Graduate Intern for the Freshman Academic Programs. I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. Surprisingly, we have more than potatoes there! We have Boise State University, where I graduated with my degree in K-12 Physical Education. I’m a proud Bronco and yes, birds really do crash into the blue turf if we’re talking about the Sept. 3rd, 2009 football game. I was inspired by my involvement at BSU to go to graduate school and I’m happy it has brought me to Clemson! I’m currently a first-year graduate student getting my M.Ed in Counselor Education, emphasis in Student Affairs. I spend most of my time being the graduate assistant for Clemson Campus Activities and Events in Student Programming. I LOVE what I do because I get to see students make a positive impact on their campus through their events! I also love: corgis, DIY Pinterest fails, Buzzfeed quizzes, Dance Marathons, anything health/fitness, sometimes running, Andy from Parks and Rec, and eating carbs. Now that you know almost everything about me, I’m so excited to meet you all and get to know more about each of you! Go Tigers!!!
Hey y’all my name is Tate Bowers and I am going into my senior year. I am a graphic communication major, and I will be on of your peer mentors this summer. I am from Powdersville, South Carolina and I graduated from Wren High School in 2012 where I participated in football, track, and cross country. Outside of school I was working at Powdersville Animal Hospital. I have two older sisters and two great parents. A little about myself is that I love the outdoors, being active, I also enjoy playing video game, and I enjoy baking cakes, and yes that means at some point during the summer you will most likely get to try a cake of mine. When I am not busy working on schoolwork I can usually be found watching Netflix or designing logos on my laptop. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and having an awesome summer!!
Hi! My name is Sydne Posey and I am a Junior Public Health Science major. I graduated from Sumter High School and was a part of the ESP program in the summer of 2014. In high school I was a competitive cheerleader and ran cross-country. Here at Clemson I am involved in Greek life as a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. In my spare time, I enjoy watching sports, being outside, working out and playing with my dog. ESP was probably the most scary and exciting thing I’ve ever done in my life. Coming to a brand new place, not knowing anyone was pretty intimidating for me but at the end of the summer I didn’t want it to end. I got ahead in classes, knew my way around campus and made so many friends before the year even began. If I could do ESP every summer, I would! I am so excited to meet all of you and hope to help make this summer one for the books. Go Tigers!
Hey everyone! My name is Megan Monaghan and I am a rising sophomore. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be one of your peer mentors this summer! I was accepted into the Early Success Program for the summer of 2015 as a Graphic Communications student, but have since decided to major in Business. I graduated from D.W. Daniel High School in 2015 where I was involved in cheerleading, Ambassador club, my church, YoungLife, and the Clemson Central Rec Department.
I love doing yoga, and am a Jimmy Johns enthusiast! I’ve lived in Clemson my entire life, so I know the area well and look forward to showing y’all the ins and outs of this beautiful town. I’ve loved Clemson since I was young which is why I was so set on going to school here. ESP turned out to be the perfect experience because it gave me the opportunity to get oriented on campus and meet a whole new group of people from many different places. I can’t wait to meet y’all and have an awesome summer together!
Hello! My name is Patrick Jones and I am a rising sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia. I am majoring in Marketing with a minor in Packaging Science and Food Science. At Clemson, I am part of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity so feel free to ask me questions about the rush process. In my free time I am playing lacrosse, wakeboarding, fishing or watching TV. I was a part of the ESP program last year, which turned out to be one of the best summers of my life with an even better group of people. As a peer mentor I hope to make this summer just as fun of an experience for me as I know it will be for you. Looking forward to meeting all of you and GO TIGERS!!!
My name is Caroline Powell and I am from Greenville, SC. I am majoring in Biological Sciences. My dream job when I graduate college is to become a nurse. I wanted to be a peer mentor because I want to make this summer a fun but also learning experience as new ESP students transition into a college lifestyle. I know I will never forget my summer in the ESP program and I want everyone to have the same experience. I am excited for all the fun things we have planned for this summer and can't wait to meet everyone!
