Mike McNicholas graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1970 and earned a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from Florida International University in 1976. He spent seven years from 1973-1980 with The Real Estate Investment Group of The Travelers Insurance Companies in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Thereafter, he spent six years with U.S. Shelter Corporation in Greenville, South Carolina. Mike was Vice President of and managed the development of the Income Property Division to include office, retail, and garden apartment developments in North and South Carolina, Virginia and Florida.
Mike is President of Carolina Holdings, Inc., a company he and his partners founded in 1986. The Company’s primary emphasis is to develop, lease, and manage investment-quality commercial and residential properties. CHI has developed over 5 million square feet of retail and office space since its inception. These projects range in size from free-standing 5,000-10,000 square foot buildings to projects of 850,000 square feet on 100+ acres. CHI prides itself in developing enduring personal and professional relationships, while developing successful projects. CHI has an active consulting and advisory business in which our asset management services are provided to a growing list of clients.
Mike is married to Mary McNicholas, his wife of 37 years, and has two children, Katie Winburn and Chris McNicholas.
