Trustee Task Force Hears Progress Report

The Trustee Task Force on the History of Clemson met today (Oct. 8) to receive a progress report on its stakeholder engagement efforts.

At its last meeting, the task force, appointed by the Board of Trustees in July, asked President Clements and the administration to develop ways that faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public could offer input on ways to best document and tell the full history of Clemson.

A dedicated website established for faculty, staff, students and alumni has received nearly 4,000 unique visitors and generated more than 100 comments. Approximately 10 letters have been received through the US Mail option.

The task force also reviewed a list of constituent groups that the administration plans to engage directly over the next few weeks, such as Faculty and Staff Senate, student government, the Alumni Association and advisory boards.

Task force chair David Wilkins called the work of the group “a worthy task ... that will be productive and healthy for the Clemson community.”
