Welcome to the Board of Visitors

The Clemson Board of Visitors is comprised of over fifty individuals that are passionate about Clemson University and serve as Goodwill Ambassadors for our great institution. Each member is nominated by a member of the Board of Trustees and appointed by the President for a three year term.

Board of Visitor members serve on one of three committees; Marketing, Legislative and Student Affairs. There is also a fourth committee of Past Chairs of the Board that provides guidance and support to the Board’s Executive Committee which is made up of the Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. The Chair of each of the above mentioned committees also serves on the Executive Committee.

During our annual meetings, committee gatherings and special events, university faculty and staff educate our group of current research, programs and initiatives. We take this knowledge back to our local communities and support the progress Clemson is making in executing the Will of Thomas Green Clemson, which is to promote and grow a higher education seminary of learning that will in turn promote economic development for the State of South Carolina. 

We are legislative advocates with on-going communication with our state and federal representatives. Our annual trips to Columbia and Washington, D. C. strengthen these relationships.

We plan and host a series of high school receptions for accepted students and their parents throughout the state as well as in the Atlanta and Charlotte areas. 

Each fall we take an annual trip to an away Clemson football game where we tour the respective campus to develop ideas and note best practices.

We share these discoveries with our administration as we continue our pursuit of a “Top 20 Public Institution.”
