The Office of Global Engagement collaborates with university offices within the colleges and administrative units in the provision of international services and the implementation of international initiatives.

  • Campus Internationalization

    International Services Coordination Committee

    The International Services Coordination Committee (ISCC) is charged with coordinating information and reviewing and recommending policies and plans for international student recruitment, international student admissions, financial aid, international student affairs, international student retention, immigration services, tax and employment for international students, scholars, faculty and staff, and academic support services for international students. The purpose of the ISCC is to support the University vision, mission and top 20 goals in the area of international student recruitment and services. The committee is chaired by the Vice Provost for Global Engagement and each member of PAC nominates a senior representative from their area to serve on the committee.

    International Programs Coordination Committee

    The International Programs Coordination Committee (IPCC) is charged with coordinating information and recommending policies and plans for study abroad, international research opportunities and international internships and co-ops. The purpose of the IPCC is to support the University vision, mission and top 20 goals in the area of international programs. The committee is chaired by the Vice Provost for Global Engagement.     Internationalization Task Force

    As part of the American Council on Education 11th Internationalization Laboratory, the primary charge of the Internationalization Task Force is to review current international activities and make recommendations to enhance Clemson University's abilities to prepare students for careers in the new global economy and to increase the number and quality of global engagement opportunities for students and faculty.

    International Graduate Student Admission

    Questions regarding international graduate student, scholar or researcher admissions should be addressed to Kathleen Costello, Director of Admissions & Recruitment.

    Employment, Visa, and Taxes for Non-US Citizens

    The Human Resources Office is responsible for non-resident alien employment eligibility verification, determination of non-resident alien employee-independent contractor status, and related non-resident alien tax issues. Additional responsibility includes tax issues related to U.S. source scholarships awarded to non-resident aliens. For information or assistance in the area of international employment and taxation, contact Mack Howard, Director of International Employment & Taxation, or Pablo Unda.

    Research Funding

    The Office of Sponsored Programs facilitates the administrative review and approval process of proposals, contracts and other agreements, and Sheila Lischwe, Ph.D., Programs Director, acts as liaison for OGE. Funding sources can be found on the Internationalization Resources page of this website.

    Export Control

    The Office of Research Compliance promotes a culture of compliance, research integrity, and high quality research within the University community. Contact Tami Hemingway, Export Control Officer, for concerns regarding exports.

    International Travel and Procurement

    For financial matters, please see the University Finance Division’sinformation on international travel.

    Travel Insurance must be attained through Clemson University Risk Management. Questions regarding Health and Safety can be addressed to Linda Rice, Director of Risk Management.

    Financial Aid

    Study Abroad Financial Aid questions should be addressed to Gail Woods in the Financial Aid Office.
