The Chief Public Affairs Officer is responsible for developing and implementing activities to create awareness of and support for the university's mission, activities and priorities with both internal and external audiences. This responsibility is discharged through the management of the Departments of News Services (media relations and internal news), Publications and Promotion (marketing, advertising and promotional materials, including Clemson World and the President Report), and Direct Marketing/Special Projects (direct mail and other targeted constituent communication). In addition, the Chief Public Affairs Officer serves as public relations counsel to the president and executive officers of the University.
