The following statistics for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 are gathered by the University Police Department Records Division and reviewed for errors by the Investigative Division. Crime statistics are also gathered from the city of Clemson Police Department and the Oconee County Sheriff's Office. The information is classified through the Uniform Crime Reporting/Incident-based Reporting Guidelines and forwarded to the S.C. Law Enforcement Division, which forwards them to the FBI. Statistics for reports made to the Pickens County and Foothills Rape Crisis centers are received directly from each site. The University works closely with local police to monitor, record and notify the campus community of student criminal activity that occurs at the off-campus locations of University-recognized student organizations, including crimes at off-campus housing for these groups.
