The mission of New Student and Sophomore Programs is to support the students of Clemson University by facilitating transition and retention programs for the first two years of the undergraduate experience.
To achieve this mission our office works collaboratively with academic affairs staff, faculty, and various offices across campus to provide engaging learning opportunities that foster student success.
Clemson Connect is designated for new Clemson students and is an integral part of your transition to Clemson life and the Clemson family. Clemson Connect is a series of activities and programs to help you make academic and social connections, which will contribute to your success here.
The purpose of the student orientation at Clemson University is to ensure that new students have a successful transition and integration into college life. The program promotes discussion among parents, new students, continuing students, and faculty and staff on the expectations and perceptions of the campus community.

To help sophomore students find success while meeting their unique needs, New Student and Sophomore Programs has developed a comprehensive Sophomore Year Experience that utilizes many campus-based resources.
Student affairs professionals have a particular responsibility for ensuring that our campus is a true learning community committed to providing "transformative" educational experiences for all students.
TigerWire is an online community designed the help students connect with each other and with campus. There are two exclusive communities within TigerWire for students, one for freshmen and one for sophomores and transfers. You can create a profile, post discussions, connect with your peers and see videos from upperclassmen who give tips on how to be successful at Clemson.
New Student and Sophomore Programs provides two excellent opportunities for students to get involved and give back to Clemson. We hire 30 Ambassadors each year to work during summer and January Orientations and we recruit more than 250 Welcome Leaders to be the "face" of the university during Clemson Connect. Find out more!
