Student Affairs

Get Involved, to students, fall 2011

Greetings students,

This school year has been so exciting. Your Tiger pride is visible on Solid Orange Fridays, at Clemson athletic events and in all of your co-curricular activities. I am impressed to see how dedicated all of you are to making your Clemson Experience the best it can be!

With this week being Homecoming, I wanted to remind you of the amazing opportunities that are available to you at Clemson. Whether you’re in your final year at Clemson or beginning your first semester here, it’s never too late to take advantage of the many offerings on campus. Balancing academics, organizations and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be a trying task. Here are a few suggestions that may help you this semester!

  • Fike and Campus Recreation — Participate in intramurals through Campus Recreation, or try out a fitness class at Fike. Staying active can help reduce stress.
  • The Michelin® Career Center — The Michelin® Career Center is now merged with the Cooperative Education Program in the Hendrix Student Center, and can help you find the perfect internship, job or Co-op program.
  • OrgSync and ClemsonCounts — Utilize these resources to track your service hours and communicate with student organizations.
  • Facebook — Stay in touch with us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/clemsonstudentaffairs). I will take the first 5 people who post on our wall about their favorite aspects of Student Affairs to Einsteins’ for breakfast!

Finally, please make responsible and healthy choices during all of your activities on campus and in our community. When making decisions concerning alcohol and illegal drugs, consider the University alcohol and drug use policy (http://www.clemson.edu/alcohol) and Clemson’s core values of Integrity, Honesty and Respect. Everything you do reflects upon Clemson and impacts our community. Let’s ALL work to make Clemson proud — ALL the time!

The fall semester at Clemson is always busy, but fun...especially Homecoming! Clemson students are well-rounded and academically talented young men and women. Clemson University and the Division of Student Affairs want all of our students to reach their full potential. Embrace those opportunities that leave you feeling engaged, satisfied and successful.

Go Tigers!
