Summer 2013 Student Message

Dear Students:

The end of yet another great semester is upon us and I must say thank you for all your hard work, determined spirit and dedication to making Clemson the amazing place I get to call work each day.

Looking back over the last year, I have had several fond memories that included many of you:

·      I was able to take a Boot Camp class at Fike, and let me tell you, those of you who do this regularly should be complimented!

·      I participated in the Student Affairs regatta on Lake Hartwell.

·      I became a Clemson mom for the second time. Having both of my kids on campus with you all will continue to give me a unique perspective.

I also enjoyed watching Clemson win against LSU in what is sure to be a history-making win for our Tigers. I’m excited about the progress we made in solidifying construction for new housing/recreational projects on campus. And I greatly appreciated those of you who worked with me as part of the Creative Inquiry CU Water Drop project.

This campus provides an abundance of unique professional and involvement opportunities, so I encourage each of you take advantage of all that Clemson offers. As you move into summer jobs and classes, I hope you have felt fulfilled and empowered this semester to go out and positively impact the world. As Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

Congratulations for all your hard work. Have a wonderful summer.
