Take these steps to apply easily
You should apply as a freshman candidate if you are currently enrolled in high school or have not enrolled or earned credit at another college or university following high school graduation.
Admission is closed when all class space has been committed. We encourage applicants to submit materials early in the fall of their senior year. In mid-February, decisions are mailed to students who applied before Dec. 1; students who applied after Dec. 1 will receive their decision at this time or shortly thereafter. After you submit your application, you will be mailed a confirmation postcard. If you have questions about the application process, you can contact the Office of Admissions at 864-656-2287. Please note that admission decisions will not be given over the phone.
Interviews are not required for admission, but you can learn more about the Clemson experience by visiting with an admissions staff member. Appointments are not required, but you can call the office at 864-656-2287 to schedule one if you would like.
Freshman Application Deadline
Fall semester Dec. 1 (Priority notification deadline)
Dec. 31 (Deadline for priority consideration for academic scholarhips)
May 1 (Application deadline)
Spring semester Dec. 15
Notified on a rolling basis; students can expect a decision 4-6 weeks after their application is complete. Admission is closed when all classroom space has been committed.
Deadline for transfer applications
Fall semester July 1
Spring semester Dec. 1*
*All official documents (except those for your current term) must be postmarked by Dec. 15. Note: Transfer students who wish to apply for Maymester, Summer Session I or Summer Session II should submit their application at least two weeks before classes begin.
Applications for both freshman and transfer admission are reviewed after all required information is received. Candidates must request that all test scores be forwarded directly to Clemson. A student's personal copy or a copy from another source is considered unofficial.
Students are required to have their transcripts/mark sheets/academic records verified by a certified U.S. educational consultant agency. Prospective transfer students will need to provide translated course descriptions for coursework to be evaluated for Clemson academic credit.
