Resilient Home Program
Welcome

Southeastern Workshop for Disaster-Resilient Homes

The Resilient Home Program Team is carefully monitoring Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Hannah and determining how they might affect the logistics and attendance for the RHP Workshop in Charleston. As of Monday, Sept. 1, the workshop is scheduled to proceed as planned. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your participation or if you have professional responsibilities related to either storm that will prevent you from attending, please email Nina Norris.

The goal of the Resilient Home Program is to make community recovery more certain following a natural disaster by dramatically speeding the return of the residents to their homes. To do so, we are bringing together key industry leaders, researchers and government entities to discuss prevention, assessment, response and rebuilding related to natural disasters common to the Southeastern United States — hurricanes, earthquakes and floods.

When: September 9-10, 2008
Where: Stern Center, College of Charleston, Charleston, S.C.

Read the Southeastern workshop brochure (pdf). This is an invitation-only event. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Tim Smail.
