Week 1 -- An Introduction to THRD 480/680

Welcome to THRD 480/680 -- Educational Applications of Microcomputers. If you have not read over the course syllabus, please click on "Syllabus" on the menu (on the left) of the Blackboard Homepage. In-depth details of class projects will come later in the semester.

On Monday morning of each week, visit the Discussion Board to see a new posting regarding educational technologies. Quality participation on the Discussion Board is critical since this class is primarily a-synchronous (time independent), thus a 20% value to the course grade has been assessed.

Each week, directions for class activities will be posted by Monday morning (8 a.m.) in the opening page (here) of Blackboard. These weekly activities will include readings and computer-based activities from the course text and the SimNet CD.

To clarify any questions that may arise and to provide instruction on weekly topics and upcoming assignments, a weekly "Breeze Live" meeting has been set for Thursday afternoon of each week from 3:00 - 4:30 EST. You are strongly encouraged to attend the Breeze Live session each week so you can seek clarification or ask questions that may arise. The URL for the Breeze Live meeting will be the same throughout the semester and it will be provided at the top of the "Weekly Activities" page and also on a button in the Blackboard links for the course.
