THE REALITY
Clemson University must attract and retain 100-plus new faculty each year.
The only way to remain competitive with other leading universities for the best researchers and scholars is to offer unique and appealing starting packages to faculty.
Without endowed chairs and professorships, Clemson will not have the opportunity to recruit the best scholars and will lose the most talented to rival schools.
We want and need these eminent scholars for our students, our academic programs, our research and, indeed, as a pivotal factor in the economic prosperity of our state.
Endowed Chairs, like Karen Burg (right) conduct research that will change people’s lives, teach the next generation of bioengineers and researchers, and encourage more women to go into scientific fields.
