In today's environment, unrestricted gifts and endowments will allow the president to direct resources to Clemson's highest priority - achieving the vision to become a top-20 public university. Three named endowment opportunities exist with minimum funding levels as follows:

| Named President's Fund for Excellence | $1,000,000 | To provide an endowment fund for use by the president for the furtherance of academic excellence. |
| Named Dean's Fund for Excellence | $500,000 | To provide an endowment fund to a specific college. |
| Named Unrestricted Endowment | $10,000 | With commitments of $10,000 to $500,000, these endowments provide a totally unrestricted fund or a fund restricted to one level, such as a college, department or program. |
