Greenville and Atlanta-area Tigers Celebrate Campaign Kickoff
Clemson alumni and friends attended recent regional events at the Greenville, SC Peace Center and at the Atlanta History Center to celebrate the kick-off of the public phase of a capital campaign to raise $600 million in private gifts by June 30, 2012. The Will to Lead: A Campaign for Clemson will support students and faculty by providing scholarships, fellowships, professorships and enhanced learning and research opportunities with top facilities and technology. ACM Chemistries Inc. Makes $100,000 gift
Led by a pair of Clemson University civil engineering alumni, a Georgia company has pledged $100,000 to support the expansion and modernization of Lowry Hall, home of Clemson University's civil engineering program. Norcross, Ga.-based ACM Chemistries, Inc. is engaged in research, development and application of chemical admixtures for machine-made concrete products, such as pavers, roof tile and precast products. Tracking the Tiger Paw's History
"Paw prints, stretching all the way from the stadium to the library, serve as constant reminders that Clemson's Tiger is alive and kicking. Not only are those unique prints on concrete and turf; they've blossomed on notebooks, book covers, bumper stickers, blazers, sweatshirts. Mason Named Fluor Endowed Chair of Supply Chain and Logistics
Scott J. Mason has been appointed the inaugural Fluor Endowed Chair in Supply Chain and Logistics in Clemson University's industrial engineering department. An expert in modeling large-scale systems who has extensive industrial experience, Mason comes to Clemson from the industrial engineering department at the University of Arkansas, where he also was chairman of graduate studies and associate department head. Alumni Honor Fallen
On Saturday, August 28, a group of three alumni presented a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. Capt. (Ret.) Inaugural Alumni Golf Challenge Highlights
The inaugural Clemson Alumni Golf Challenge was held Sept. 10, 2010 at The Walker Course. Teams competed for bragging rites, great prizes, and the Alumni Challenge trophy. The winning team of Ed McLauren, David Wolf, Jim Wolf, and John Roberts will enjoy an all expenses paid trip to Pinehurst Resort where they will represent Clemson in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship in November. Hilderbrand Family Donates Ring
A special thank-you to The Hilderbrand Family who answered the call for a 2008 class ring to add to the collection in the ring case located at the Alumni Center. Dad, Van '74, Brother, Van, Jr. '02, and Mom, Diane were present Saturday as an '08 ladies ring was added to the case in honor of daughter, Lee '08. Clemson First Lady, Marcia Barker, was also on-hand to present Mom, Diane Hilderbrand, with a certificate of appreciation. The Clemson Alumni Association is still in need of '09 and '10 rings for the collection. Please email Randy Boatwright if you are interested in donating a ring in honor or memory of someone.

First Friday Parade
Students, alumni and fans lined the streets of Clemson to watch the annual First Friday Parade on Friday, Sept. 3. It was followed by a pep rally on Bowman Field. To start the 2010 football season, the parade theme was a "Decade of Domination." The parade was led by grand marshal Keith Adams, a former Clemson linebacker who was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2001. View photos>

1st Annual Gary J. Arthur Golf Tournament
The Clemson Club of Baltimore and Washington, DC supports this golf tournament to be held September 24th in the Timbers at Troy in Elkridge in memory of Gary Arthur, Clemson class of 1969. He was an avid supporter of The Arc of Howard County and served for 31 years with the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit The Arc of Howard County, where Gary's son, John, receives services and support. Read more>

CAFLS Golf Tournament and Tailgate
Join us for fellowship, food and fun at the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences (CAFLS) Golf Tournament on Friday, October 1st and the CAFLS Tailgate at Fike Recreation Center on Saturday, October 16th. Tailgate festivities are scheduled to begin 3 hours before kickoff of the Clemson vs. Maryland football game and will again feature a chicken sandwich lunch. SC Botanical Gardens Plant Sale
Garden staff and Master Gardeners will be onsite to help you shop the South Carolina Botanical Garden's collection of hardy and hard-to-find plants. All proceeds support the SC Botanical Garden. The annual plant sale will be held Friday, September 24th from 2:30pm - 6pm for members of the Garden only (new members may join at the gate) and Saturday, September 25th from 9am - 1pm for the public sale. Fall 2010 CU-ICAR Guest Lecture Series
This Series, typically held at 5 PM on Wednesdays (beginning September 22nd) in the AT&T Auditorium in the Campbell Center on the CU-ICAR Campus, represents a mix of distinguished speakers from academia, industry and governmental agencies covering a wide range of topics which are important to the automotive industry. On Wednesday, September 22nd at 5 PM, Dr.Reuben Sarkar will talk about the challenges in the electrification of masstransit vehicles. Dr. Sarkar is currently the Director of Engineering for Proterra Inc., a leader in the development and assembly of fuel cell hybrid-powered transit vehicles. This lecture is free of charge. Join other Greenville-area Tigers Thursday, September 23rd from 5pm to 8pm at the Haywood Road Chick-Fil-A for Family Night. Enjoy tailgate games, face painting, complimentary photos with The Tiger, giveaways, prices and great food.
