Clemson Clubs across the country will participate in a National Weekend of Service this Friday through Sunday, April 15-17. The Clemson University Alumni Association is encouraging clubs everywhere to take part in service projects in their communities that weekend. International Conference Features German Ambassador

Clemson University hosted more than 100 auto industry representatives from around the world on April 5th and 6th for the International Conference on Sustainable Automotive Technologies at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). It was the first time for the conference to be held in North America.

Walk & Roll in My Shoes

On Thursday March 10, a group of Clemson administrators, faculty, staff and students experienced life outside of their comfort zones. Participants were assigned a particular disability such as a learning disability, vision or hearing loss, lower limb amputation, stroke or a physical challenge which allowed them to truly walk or roll in someone else's shoes. Sharp and master's student Josh Werts, now you can help Clemson University researchers identify abandoned residential construction sites. Clemson Names National Scholars

Clemson University has selected 13 students to join its National Scholars Program, the university's most competitive academic scholarship program, in the fall 2011 semester. The scholars were chosen after a rigorous selection process and have an average SAT score of 1515 and an average high school GPA of 4.76. Read more>

The CBBS program for undergraduate business students ranks 29th in the country among public colleges. This program focuses on academic engagement and career preparation for all undergraduate students. A Healthier and Tastier Campus

Fig, pomegranate and blueberry plants have been planted outside Clemson University's Fernow Street Café as a part of Campus Edible Landscape, a project to make Clemson's campus more environmentally friendly-and tastier. Michael Whitmire, a graduate student at Clemson, is coordinating the campuswide project which he hopes will provide "healthy fruit, right there, where people can eat it on the way to class or work or going home." Students Design Urban Furniture

Clemson architecture students are beginning final construction on a unique piece of urban furniture: The HATCHpad, which will find a temporary home on the streets of Asheville, N.C. The project is part of a Creative Inquiry project directed by Doug Hecker, an associate professor of architecture at Clemson and the co-founder of fieldoffice, a nationally recognized interdisciplinary design studio. Oldest Living Soccer Alumnus Recognized

Vern Pyles '43 is the oldest living Clemson Soccer alumnus but was never officially awarded a letter. Just this past weekend, though, Mr. Pyles was awarded his long overdue letter in front of many fellow soccer players and alums at Riggs Field. The Botanical Gardens in Clemson, SC will be having an Earth Day Open House on Friday, April 22 from 10AM-2PM. They will discuss climate change, sustainable gardening, conservation of energy and water, and more. There will be family activities such as t-shirt painting, herb planting, and conservation games. Coach Swinney and Coach Brownell want to see you at the 2011 Prowl and Growl events! Check out their invitation video and make plans now to attend a Prowl and Growl stop in your area. In South Carolina, the tour will visit Charleston, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Florence, Rock Hill, Lexington and Aiken. In North Carolina, Tigers will stop in Charlotte and Raleigh.
