Don’t miss Legacy Day 2011 coming up Friday, November 11 2-4:30 p.m. at the historic Fort Hill home on campus. Come celebrate the Thomas Green Clemson legacy and those who continue in his footsteps. You can tour the house, hear the stories and learn about the man behind the will that started it all. The actual will of Thomas Green Clemson will be displayed. The day will also include the dedication of Fort Hill Legacy Leaf. It's been 125 years since the day Thomas Green Clemson signed his will, creating Clemson College. Now, it's time for you to leave your mark in the history of Clemson.

Family Establishes Scholarship in Memory of Clemson Alumnus

Family Establishes Scholarship in Memory of Clemson Alumnus

A $100,000 gift from his family will provide for a scholarship in honor of a Clemson University alumnus who died last year. The Robert D. Wilroy Jr. Memorial Scholarship in Chemical Engineering will be given to undergraduate students in the department from which Wilroy graduated in 1981. The scholarship fund is established by his parents, Robert David Wilroy Sr. and Marian Cocke Wilroy of Columbia.

We need your help in selecting five outstanding alumni to join the Clemson Alumni Association board of directors and also one to serve in an officer’s position as President-elect, effective July 1, 2012. Nominations are due by Friday, December 30th, 2011. We're looking for candidates with sound judgment, strong work ethic, demonstrated service to the University and Alumni Association, leadership qualities and potential, and the desire and vision to advance the goals and objectives of the Alumni Association. The board is responsible for overall policy, direction and organizational vision of the Alumni Association.

30 Years, 300 Marchers, 1 Incredible Day

2012 will mark the 30th anniversary of Alumni Band. Homecoming 2012 will also mark the dedication of our Tiger Band Plaza at the Tiger Band practice field. CUTBA and Tiger Band are making a big push to field a 300-member Alumni Band for next year's homecoming. Join us for this historic and record-breaking event.

Clemson vs. USC Annual Blood Bowl

Clemson vs. USC Annual Blood Bowl

Clemson University and the University of South Carolina will face off for the 27th time in the annual Clemson-USC Blood Drive Nov. 14-18. The Donate Life Duel, an organ donor drive competition, will be held the same week. Blood donors will receive a free, long-sleeved orange T-shirt, a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and coupons from other area restaurants.

Marching for ALS

Marching for ALS

Halftime at the Nov. 12 Wake Forest football game at Death Valley will have extra significance as the Tiger Band will be "Marching for ALS." ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s disease) affects motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord, reduces voluntary muscle action and eventually results in paralysis and even death. To take a stand against the disease, the Tiger Band has decided to participate in the Marching for ALS program and is raising money to fund ALS research and help support local families struggling with the effects of an ALS diagnosis.

Slow Food Hosts Heirloom Apple Celebration

Slow Food Clemson University has had the opportunity to plant rare southern heirloom apple trees at the Student Organic Farm at Clemson University. A tree planting ceremony will take place at the farm at 2pm on November 20, 2011. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. A silent auction and cocktail hour will follow at 4pm at Sleepy Hollow B&B in Clemson to raise funds for the care of the delicate trees.
