msu logo
The Mathematics and Science Unit at the South Carolina Department of Education offers high-quality, research-based professional development and knowledge in mathematics and science to assist these professional educators as they work to ensure that all children have a solid foundation in these key subjects. Each school day in South Carolina, more than 50,000 teachers instruct, enlighten, and challenge 670,000 students in over 1,150 public schools. The success of these professional educators is measured by the degree to which each student achieves the knowledge and skills that will enable him or her to become a productive adult. In turn, the success of an individual student-a future citizen of the Palmetto State-directly impacts the state's economy so it is critical that each one possesses a robust knowledge of mathematics, science, and technology.
