Arborist
Service Day 2002

| The ISA Southern Chapter and
Clemson Extension sponsored Arborist Service day 2002 at the Penn
Center Historic District in Beaufort, South Carolina. The Penn
Center is the site of one of the first schools for the freed slaves
and a significant African American historical and cultural
institution. The mission of the Penn Center is to
"preserve the Sea Islands' unique history, culture and
environment through serving as a local, national and international
resource center, and by acting as a catalyst for the development of
programs for self-sufficiency. |
| Despite a dismal weather
forecast, 92% of the registered participants arrived beginning at 7
a.m. Bucket trucks, stump grinders, chippers, fertilizer
equipment and tub grinders lined up on the field behind Darrah
Hall. Some statistics from the day: |
