Continuing education and outreach to the general public, practicing arborists and urban foresters, and the "green" industry is facilitated through the Cooperative Extension system, workshops and seminars, and publications. Recent workshops included two on "Tree and Soil Health Care" conducted for professionals in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia and a program for natural resource managers of US Air Force bases. The outreach efforts also actively support the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist program by providing training and continuing education required for maintaining certification.
