Assessment Practices
Assessment at Clemson University is the foundation for institutional effectiveness and planned improvement. The aim is to assure that Clemson and its programs meet and strive beyond minimum standards. The result of Assessment is purposeful, positive change in institutional programs, processes, and resources.
What is Assessment?
Assessment is the foundation of systematic, effective change implemented to assure quality and foster the pursuit of improvement in the quality of education that satisfies the needs of the constituencies in a dynamic and competitive environment.
Why do Assessment?
Institution-wide assessment is a public demonstration that the Institution's
- purpose is appropriate to higher education;
- programs and services are sufficient to accomplish its purpose;
- specific outcomes are consistent with the institution's vision and mission; and
- institutional effectiveness and quality enhancement are achieved
