2013 SACSCOC Reaffirmation Timeline

Reaffirmation involves a Self Study by the university and the submission of a Compliance Certification which was submitted by September 10, 2012.  SACSCOC describes the Compliance Certification as "a document completed by the institution that demonstrates its judgment of the extent of its compliance with each of the SACSCOC Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards, and Federal Requirements."

The University also submitted a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) by February 25, 2013 as part of its reaffirmation of accreditation review. SACSCOC describes the QEP as "a document developed by the institution that:

  • includes a process identifying key issues emerging from institutional assessment;
  • focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution;
  • demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP;
  • includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP;
  • identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement."

An Off-Site Reaffirmation Committee will review the university's Compliance Certification on November 6-9, 2012. An On-Site Reaffirmation Committee will then visit campus April 15-19, 2013 to "conduct a focused evaluation at the campus to finalize issues of compliance with the SACSCOC Core Requirements, Comprehensive Standards, and Federal Requirements; provide consultation regarding the issues addressed in the QEP; and evaluate the acceptability of the QEP."
