Opportunities After Graduation for AVS Alumni

A wide range of opportunities await Clemson Animal and Veterinary Sciences graduates. One of the very beneficial programs that has always existed in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences is an employment program whereby students work to earn as they learn (see your advisor). Internship programs are available for the same type of experience with companies and producers (see your advisor). Many of these jobs help student and employer to become better acquainted, which results in greater employment possibilities after graduation.

Another program that gives students an opportunity to make contacts and view the production of livestock in other areas involves the dairy cattle and dairy products judging teams, livestock judging team, meats judging team, poultry judging team and horse judging team. Many past graduates say that judging experience helped them more than any other course in their program. Students with an excellent work experience, or judging team experience and leadership in the Block & Bridle, Dairy Science, Preveterinary, Poultry Science and Rodeo Clubs or the Equestrian Team have an advantage at employment time over many other agriculture graduates.
