What can I study abroad?

The college encourages all of its majors to undertake a study abroad opportunity during their Clemson experience. To make this process easy to plan for all majors, our staff has created major advising sheets to assist each student in planning for study abroad and selecting the program that is right for them. The links below do not include all available study abroad programs, only those that are often used by our students and recommended. Students are welcome to discuss different options with the Study Abroad Office or the Office of Student Enrichment.

Please keep in mind if you are seeking credit for business courses through a study abroad program, that for upper level undergraduate business courses (3000 and 4000-level courses with the rubrics of ACCT, BUS, ELE, FIN, LAW, MGT and MKT), transfer credits will only be accepted from AACSB International and/or EQUIS accredited institutions. Transfer credits from non-U.S. institutions that do not hold either accreditation may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If students choose to go outside of these programs then they will need to provide the following:

  • A detailed course description or syllabus that is longer than three sentences and includes the topics covered in the course.
  • The number of contact hours and weeks of the course.
  • Degree and department of instructor teaching the course.
  • Information on how the student is assessed in the course.

All institutions provided in the advising sheets linked below meet the above listed requirements. A current list of all accredited institutions available for study abroad through Clemson University and its affiliates can be found here.
