The e-NOSE
system
now being used at the C3B is a test platform designed for the
development of new
VOC-responsive, polymeric membrane materials; investigation of the
mechanisms of interaction of vapors with conductive polymers; and the
development of ANN training sets for specfici arrays to targeted
vapors. It is far more complex and has many more parts than an actual
deployable system. This research platform comprises a gas maniforld
system for introducing and exhausting gases and vapors, the
multi-element sensor array, a sensor interrogation and data acquisition
subsystem, data ananlysis and information processing software, and the
information ourput intreface.
