Jerry’s story is not atypical: raised by wolves, stolen by gypsies, sold to truckers- that old saw. After spending many years as a professional public speaker, radio and television broadcaster, semi-professional stand-up comedian (and many other jobs too numerous to mention), Jerry realized a long held dream of becoming a teacher.
The dream took root at Murray State University where he earned the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Organizational Communication and served as a graduate teaching assistant. The dream flourishes now as a member of the Clemson University Communication Studies Department.
His academic interests include: humor, storytelling, pedagogy, organizational rhetoric, public address, and leadership, among others. He currently teaches Public Speaking and occasionally ventures out on the banquet circuit to deliver some after dinner humor.
