The following organizations and initiatives are housed in the Department of Communication Studies and offer students many opportunities to become active and engaged members of the department:

•    Join the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter
•    Join the Forensics Speech and Debate Society
•    Compete in the Tiger Speakout public speaking competition in COMM 250
•    Participate in the William T. Howell Prelaw Society Mock Trial Experience
•    Compete in the Trustee's Medal or Clemson Cup competition
•    Study abroad
•    Intern in an area of interest
•    Apply for membership in Lambda Pi Eta national honor society
