Mr. DeVita serves as adjunct professor in the CSM department teaching Safety in Construction. This course is an in-depth class covering the ethical, legal and financial reasons for safety as well as reviewing the CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Standards. Students learn why safety is important and how it can positively or negatively impact a company’s ability to thrive and be competitive in their market. At the end of the semester, students who complete all the requirements earn an OSHA 30 Hour card.
David is the owner and President of Carolina Safety Consultants, located in Greenville, SC. He earned a BS degree in Management – Health and Safety from Clemson University in 1990. With nearly 20 years of loss control and safety experience, DeVita continues to grow and expand the safety services provided by Carolina Safety Consultants. In March 2009, CSC was awarded the Greater Greenville Chamber’s Small Business of the Month Award. This is a great accomplishment and award that De Vita is very proud to have earned. He says, "Our goal is to assist our clients to be competitive and financially stable through sound and effective safety management systems." CSC has two full-time safety consultants and a part-time office manager.
David has also developed strategic partnerships with several other companies: Tradesman International, to provide temporary safety personal on jobsites as needed; Britt, Peters & Associates, Inc., to provide safety consulting for parking deck owners and Life and Safety, LLC, to provide a broader scope of safety services.
