machineryWhy a Certificate Program?

Clemson University's certificate program in construction science and management provides qualified students with an opportunity to take a selection of advanced construction management courses without having to commit the time and resources toward the pursuit of a master's degree. Students receive three hours of college credit for each course and a certificate upon completion of all six courses.

Prospective students apply in the same manner as graduate students. A bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, building construction or a related area is required. There are no requirements to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). However, overseas students applying for the Certificate Program are required to take the TOEFL examination and submit their scores as part of the application process. Applicants from other disciplines may be admitted, but they may be required to make up any deficiencies in course work to provide the needed prerequisite skills and knowledge for the certificate program.

Certificate Program Courses (three credits each):

CSM 860 — Financial Planning and Analysis

CSM 861 — Construction Control Systems

CSM 862 — Personnel Management and Negotiations

CSM 863 — Advanced Planning and Scheduling

CSM 864 — Business Strategy and Marketing

CSM 865 — Project Management

If a student is enrolled in the certificate program and wishes to be admitted into the MCSM graduate program, he/she must meet all admission and degree requirements in effect at the time of application.
