Pre-Law - Pre-Professional Advising Program

The CAAH Student Services Center provides students with multiple advising and programmatic opportunities throughout the academic year aimed at aiding students in their exploration of the legal field.
Law schools do not require a particular undergraduate major for entrance; they place emphasis on academic performance in whichever curriculum the student chooses in addition to other required components of the law school application.
Pre-law advising is intended to work alongside a student’s academic major advising. Pre-law is a pre-professional program, not a major, so it is important that students interested in attending law school work with both their academic major advisor as well as with a pre-law advisor. Students interested in staying connected with CAAH’s pre-law advising program are encouraged to contact Cari Brooks at
CAAH’s pre-law advising program will host several events during the year and also offers individual advising appointments. Examples of events are:

  • Law school visits
  • Pre-law 101 information sessions
  • Workshops on personal statements, recommendation letters, etc.
  • Faculty-led programming

Clemson University houses several student organizations that are related to prelaw, and we encourage students to learn more about these opportunities.
