Bowes, Ryan

Vice President, Finance, Marriott International

Ryan has 10 years of corporate experience in the hospitality and real estate industry and is currently a Vice President of Finance for Marriott International. In his current role, Ryan leads the management of Marriott’s license arrangement with its divested timeshare partner, in addition to leading North America Franchise Finance for Starwood branded hotels. Ryan has also managed several key M&A dispositions for Marriott and previously Starwood over the past 3 years. Ryan’s finance responsibilities have included corporate P&L accountability for over 500 Starwood branded franchise hotels and leading teams responsible for financial planning and analysis and financial approvals of new franchise development deal structures. As part of Ryan’s M&A responsibilities, he spent two years leading the spin-off and eventual merger of Starwood’s timeshare division with Interval Leisure Group, in a deal valued at $1.3 billion. Most recently, Ryan supported Marriott’s disposition of its procurement subsidiary, Avendra LLC to buyer Aramark in a deal valued at $1.350 billion.

Prior to Marriott’s acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in September 2016, Ryan held various leadership roles with Starwood over an 8 year period including leading Capital Finance for the Americas, Financial Planning & Analysis for Starwood Corporate and Project Finance for Starwood’s Timeshare Division.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Financial Management from Clemson University and also earned a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemson University. Ryan currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and three children.
